Chris Inglis
First U.S. National Cyber Director

The Honorable John C. (Chris) Inglis serves on the boards of AIG, Mitre and Huntington Bancshares, and as an advisor to Paladin Capital and Ballistic Ventures. Inglis was the nation’s first Senate-confirmed U.S. National Cyber Director from 2021-23, the National Security Agency Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer from 2006-14 and, at various times across the period 1982-2025, a member of the departments of Computer/Cyber Science and Mechanical Engineering at the U.S. Military, Naval Academy, and Air Force academies. His public service includes 28 years of full-time service at the NSA, and post-NSA stints on the U.S. Defense Science Board, Navy Science Board, National Intelligence University Board, the Strategic Command Strategic Advisory Group and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency Advisory Council. He has graduate degrees from Columbia, Johns Hopkins and George Washington universities, and an honorary doctorate from the National Intelligence University. In more than 30 years of active and reserve military service, Chris was rated as a U.S. Air Force command pilot and retired with the rank of Brigadier General.
