Kenneth (KC) Carnes II
Vice President, Cybersecurity & Chief Information Security Officer, Tennessee Valley Authority
KC Carnes currently serves as the VP Cybersecurity & Chief Information Security Officer of the Tennessee Valley Authority. KC is also designated as the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer and the agency’s Federal Senior Intelligence Coordinator. He serves as vice chairman of the McCrary Institute’s Southeast Region Cybersecurity Collaboration Center (SERC3) Industry Advisory Board. Starting in nuclear generation, KC has spent his career in public power in various regions and has been in the industry for over 25 years. He has experience supporting all verticals of electric operations, from the perspectives of security, resiliency and recovery. He is passionate about information sharing and building partnerships to enable understanding of emerging threats in this fast-changing industry. KC has previously been the chair of multiple industry groups and remains active in various security organizations and the with broader industry. KC has a degree in Computer Science and an MBA.
